Top Cash Plays:

Quarterbacks

Anthony Richardson ($6,300)

Although rookie QB Anthony Richardson’s passing output was lacking in Week 1, he did finish with a completion rate of 64.9%, which is encouraging. Richardson only managed an IAY/PA (intended air yards per pass attempt) of 4.8, which ranked 26th out of 32 in Week 1. The Houston Texans limited QB Lamar Jackson to 8.6 fantasy points in Week 1, however, I expect Richardson to shoulder the load for the Colts, especially with how putrid their running game has been. In fact, per Dwain McFarland, Richardson scrambled at a 9% rate while being involved in designed runs at a 27% rate. Richardson’s rushing makes up nearly 40% of the Colts offense! Trust Richardson to get the job done for you in Week 2.

Daniel Jones ($5,700)

After getting flattened by the Cowboys, QB Daniel Jones (aka Danny Dimes, aka Vanilla Vick) gets a chance to rebound against the Cardinals. QB Sam Howell scraped together 17.2 fantasy points against the Cardinals, including one rushing touchdown. HC Brian Daboll will have a game plan ready to attack this defense bereft of talent and Jones' production will have plenty to do with it.

Other Cheap Options: Brock Purdy $5,700, Jordan Love $5,500, Jared Goff $6,200. It’s a wonderful week to pay down at QB for cash.

Running Back

Christian McCaffrey ($8,900)

Good thing we saved all that money in the quarterback section because we are about to pay big for a star running back. No, the Rams did not let RB Kenneth Walker run all over them in Week 1, only allowing 64 rushing yards on 12 attempts as the Seattle Seahawks lost both starting offensive tackles after sprinting out to a 13-0 lead. RB Christian McCaffrey also just torched a solid Pittsburgh Steelers defense for 152 yards in Week 1. Trust in CMC for Week 2.

Aaron Jones ($6,600)

The box score does not tell the entire story. RB Aaron Jones could have and should have had an even bigger day against the Bears in Week 1. A hamstring pull limited Jones' playing time as the veteran finished the game early, securing two total touchdowns with 41 rushing yards and 86 yards receiving. Insert the Atlanta Falcons defense, who just allowed RB Miles Sanders and RB Chuba Hubbard to run for a combined 132 yards. Jones did not practice Wednesday. If he is unable to go RB AJ Dillon ($5,900) would be a free square in cash.

Wide Receivers

Stefon Diggs ($8,000)

WR Stefon Diggs is back to his old Alpha self. On Monday night against the Jets, Diggs commanded 13 targets, converting them into 10 receptions for 102 yards and one touchdown. Diggs now faces the Raiders in Week 2, who allowed the 5th most passing yards in 2022. The Bills should be looking for revenge after a gut-wrenching loss to the Jets Monday night with Diggs playing a significant role.

Amon-Ra St. Brown ($7,800)

Amon-Ra St. Brown gets to play against a team that just allowed WR Tutu Atwell and WR Puka Nacua to combine for 138 yards receiving. St. Brown should go nuclear on Sunday against the Seahawks' secondary.

Zay Jones ($4,700)

WR Zay Jones managed seven targets in a tight game with the Colts in Week 1. Jones should be heavily involved again in a Week 2 matchup with the Chiefs, yielding the highest projected over/under total of slate at 51.5 points.

Tight End

Travis Kelce ($7,600)

TE Travis Kelce was missed dearly against the Lions in Week 1. Now healthy, Kelce faces the Jaguars defense, who allowed the 8th most fantasy points to tight ends in 2022. Kelce should be targeted early and often with the Chiefs' 27.5-point implied team total.

Zach Ertz ($3,500)

TE Zach Ertz showed he was truly ready to go in Week 1 by earning a team-leading 10 targets. Even though the Cardinals' offense is bad, volume at the tight end position is important to their success and Ertz is being fed a full plate.

D/ST

Washington Commanders ($3,100)

The Commanders held the Cardinals to 16 points last week and now they get the Broncos in Week 2. QB Russell Wilson was awful against the Raiders in Week 1, unable to muster 200 passing yards while being constantly pressured and sacked twice.

Favorite Stacks:

1. Josh Allen + Stefon Diggs with Josh Jacobs bring back. Breece Hall gashed the Bills defense for 127 yards, including an 83-yard run.

2. Trevor Lawrence + Calvin Ridley + Zay Jones with Travis Kelce bring back.

3. Justin Herbert + Mike Williams + Keenan Allen, no bring back on the Titan’s side.

4. Jared Goff + Amon-Ra St. Brown with DK Metcalf/Tyler Lockett/Jaxson Smith-Njigba bring back.

GPP Plays:

Quarterbacks High End

Patrick Mahomes ($8,300)

QB Anthony Richardson accumulated 22 fantasy points against the Jaguars in Week 1. With the Chiefs already 0-1, Mahomes will likely do whatever it takes to win this game.

Lamar Jackson ($7,700)

Jackson looked awful in Week 1 as they trampled the Ravens trampled Texans. The good news is, Jackson is 6-2 in his career vs. the Bengals, averaging 166 passing yards and 1.25 passing touchdowns. Lamar has also averaged 73.5 rushing yards against the Bengals. Wheels up.

Quarterbacks Low End

See Cash Lineup Section.

Running Back

David Montgomery ($5,800)

The Lions are still easing RB Jahmyr Gibbs into the offense, leaving RB David Montgomery to handle the heavy lifting. The Lions have the 3rd highest implied total of 26.25 points and Montgomery should contribute to that.

James Cook ($6,100)

If everyone is going to play the Bills passing game, then it is time to pivot to the running game. RB James Cook had 12 rushes and six targets in Week 1, leading the Bills backfield. The Raiders allowed RB Javonte Williams and RB Samaje Perine to rush for 93 total yards combined in their previous matchup. Cook is a nice pivot off the expected chalk of the Bills' passing game.

Wide Receivers

Deebo Samuel ($5,600)

WR Deebo Samuel's price has dropped dramatically and now is the time to pounce. With RB Christian McCaffrey being chalk and everyone bedazzled by WR Brandon Aiyuk’s performance, Deebo makes for an incredible game theory play. The Rams only allowed 112 receiving yards in Week 1 albeit the Seattle Seahawks lost both their starting offensive tackles, drastically changing the offensive gameplan. Deebo is undoubtedly worth the risk at cost this week.

WR DK Metcalf/Tyler Lockett/Jaxson Smith-Njigba ($7,000, $6,100, $5,400)

I like sprinkling in some of the Seahawks' pass-catchers against the Lions this week. They are easy to game stack and not overly expensive.

Tight Ends

TE Mark Andrews ($6,300)

TE Mark Andrews gets a nice discount for Week 2 after missing the Ravens' season opener. Andrews has averaged 59 yards receiving along with the 2nd most receiving touchdowns in his career (6) against the Bengals. Mark Andrews was limited in practice on Wednesday, make sure to check his Friday practice report. If the Ravens' tight end is healthy enough to play, he is a must-start player.

TE Kyle Pitts ($4,200)

TE Cole Kmet carved up the Green Bay Packers defense for 5 receptions for 44 yards. HC Arthur Smith is all about matchups and hopefully, he will use Pitts to attack Green Bay in the middle of the field.

D/ST

New York Jets ($2,700)

I expect the Jets' defense to be low-rostered going against the Cowboys in Week 2. We all saw how they handled QB Josh Allen, and I expect their dominance to continue against a less mobile QB Dak Prescott.

Lone Ranger (sub $5,000 player that can score over 10 fantasy points)

WR Zay Flowers crushed it for me last week however, WR Jahan Dotson came up 1 point short, so 1-1 on the year.

WR Jahan Dotson ($4,900) & WR Zay Jones ($4,700)

Give me the Commanders WR with the lower Salary that is NOT facing CB Patrick Surtain this week. The Commanders are going to have to move the ball through the air and WR Terry McLaurin should be tied up with Surtain all afternoon.

I touched on Zay Jones above and expect him to be involved in a high-scoring affair against the Kansas City Chiefs.
