Top Cash Plays:

Quarterbacks

Brock Purdy ($7,000)

Purdy may have hurt his MVP stock but that does not mean we can’t use him in DFS in Week 17. Outside of his performance against the Ravens, Purdy has put up 23 or more points in six of his last eight games. Even better for Purdy, he gets the gift of facing the Commanders defense, who rank as the #1 matchup for opposing QBs, #1 matchup for opposing WRs, and 5th best matchup for opposing RBs. There are plus matchups all around for all of Purdy’s weapons.

Jaen Hurts ($8,300)

Hurts is an obvious play and with all the uncertainty at QB this week, he can give you an edge. Hurts has scored 23+ fantasy points in four of his last five games. Also helping Hurts’ case this week is his matchup against the Cardinals. The Cardinals rank as the 6th best matchup for opposing QBs.

Other options: Justin Fields ($7,300)

Running Back

Christian McCaffrey ($9,600)

CMC is expensive this week but worth the price tag. The 49ers are still fighting for a 1st round bye and CMC should be a large part of that plan. The Commanders’ defense ranks as the 5th best matchup overall for opposing RBs and the 2nd best matchup for receiving backs. CMC has 100+ rushing yards in four of his last five games and should eclipse that mark again this week.

Kyren Williams ($8,300)

It’s expensive RB week! You may have to choose between CMC and Kyren Williams this week and Kyren is an excellent alternative. Williams has had 20+ rushes in five of his last six games and 4+ targets in four of his last five games. Williams is getting a heavy workload and handling it well. The cherry on top of the Williams workload is his matchup against the Giants this week. The Giants defense sits as the 3rd best matchup for opposing RBs. Trust Kyren to get the job done in Week 17.

Other options: Zamir White ($5,100) if RB Josh Jacobs is ruled out, Gus Edwards ($5,900)

Wide Receiver

Mike Evans ($7,800)

Evans has forced his way up to 5th in weighted opportunity rating (WOPR) and gets a matchup against a Marshon Lattimore-less Saints defense. Evans has earned 6+ targets in seven straight games and he ranks 5th in air yards share at 40.6%.

Michael Pittman Jr. ($7,500)

Pittman is working his way back from injury and gets to face a pedestrian Raiders defense in Week 17. The Raiders defense has improved since HC Antonio Pierce took over but Pittman still ranks 3rd in WOPR and was commanding double digit targets until his early exit against the Steelers. Look for Pittman to pick up where he left off prior to injury.

Other options: Demario Douglas ($4,300), Rashee Rice ($6,900), Davante Adams ($7,400), Chris Olave ($6,800)

Tight End

Isaiah Likely ($4,600)

Likely has filled in nicely for injured TE Mark Andrews. He has 23 targets over his last four games which includes 2 TDs. Likely also gets a soft matchup against the Dolphins who rank as the 8th best matchup for opposing TEs.

Chigoziem Okonkwo ($3,600)

Okonwko has turned it on lately, earning 26 targets over his last five games. The Texans rank as the 4th best matchup for opposing TEs. The Titans will continue to play hard and Okonkwo can provide you with nice value at his cheap price tag.

D/ST

Las Vegas Raiders ($3,000)

Favorite stacks:

1. Aidan O’Connell + Davante Adams + Zamir White. WR Michael Pittman Jr. is a viable bring back.

2. Brock Purdy + CMC + Deebo Samuel/Brandon Aiyuk/George Kittle. WR Terry McLaurin is a fine bring back at his $5,500 price tag.

3. Baker Mayfield + Mike Evans + Rachaad White with a Chris Olave bring back.

GPP Plays:

Quarterbacks

Justin Fields ($7,100), Lamar Jackson ($7,700)

Fields and Jackson are slate-breakers and I’ll mix them into my GPP lineups. I do prefer Jackson over Fields since Fields’ top weapons are banged up (Cole Kmet, DJ Moore).

I also like my cash QB recommendations for GPPs.

Running Back

Kenneth Walker ($6,100)

The Steelers defense has been pummeled by the rushing attacks of the Colts and Cardinals, to the tune of 320 rushing yards. The Steelers also gave up over 100 rushing yards eight times in nine weeks. I expect Walker to get loose for a long TD run this week and punish an exploitable Steelers front seven.

I like my cash options at RB as well for GPPs this week.

Wide Receivers

I like my cash options for GPPs this week.

Tight Ends

TE Darren Waller ($4,500)

Waller has made it unscathed since his return from injury. He now gets an upgrade at QB with Tyrod Taylor and a great matchup against the #1 matchup for opposing TEs in the Rams.

Other options: George Kittle ($5,600) with all the focus on WRs Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel, Kittle should be low-rostered and be a nice leverage piece.

D/ST

I’m sticking with my cash D/ST for GPPs.

Lone Ranger (sub $5,000 player that can score over 10 fantasy points)

Zay Jones did not play so I stay at 15-13 on the season.

WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba ($4,800), Demario Douglas ($4,300)

Jaxon Smith-Njigba has 29 targets over his last 4 games. If the Steelers commit to stopping the run, JSN should get some work to open things up.

Demario Douglas is the only viable piece of the Patriots offense. Should the Bills push the pace, Douglas will be used frequently to try to keep up with Josh Allen and company.
