Waiver Wire Targets: Week 10

Heading into Week 10, we have another enticing list of players available on the waiver wire. So, let’s jump right into it!

I would like to add a disclaimer here that FAAB recommendations vary widely from league to league, roster construction, available players, etc. While I try to give a roundabout number to bid on these players, you know your leagues better than I do, so you should ultimately bid the amount that you feel is right. There is also a big difference between leagues with minimum $0 bids and minimum $1 bids that could adjust the bid amount, as well.

If you want more waiver wire help, you should join patreon.com/brotofantasy for the waiver wire podcast that dives deeper into available players not mentioned in this article, as well as QB and DEF streamers of the week. You can also join the discord and ask me more direct waiver questions with info about your league so that I can give you the most informed advice that I can. Hope to see you there!

*Players listed in order of FAAB Recommendation

**Roster percentage based on Yahoo

Tank Dell (HOU WR)

Roster Percentage: 48%

FAAB Recommendation: 25%

CJ Stroud and Tank Dell just combined for one of the best rookie performances of all time. Stroud set the rookie single game passing yard record, while Dell went for six catches, 114 receiving yards and two TDs, including the game winner with seconds remaining. Since coming back from injury and the Texans’ bye, Dell leads the team in snap percentage and target percentage. He has been in this article many times as a stash and I hope you picked him up. If he is still available, go get him.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba (SEA WR)

Roster Percentage: 58%

FAAB Recommendation: 15%

JSN seems to be getting into a groove in the Seahawks offense, as he has continued to put together solid fantasy performances over the last several weeks. This past week, JSN played over 80% of snaps and saw 7 targets for a 25% target share. While he is still difficult to trust with Metcalf and Lockett healthy, he has legitimate upside and is a flex worthy player.

Keaton Mitchell (BAL RB)

Roster Percentage: 5%

FAAB Recommendation: 10-15%

Keaton Mitchell is this week’s hot waiver wire add but I am going to be the guy who asks you to pump the brakes. This is not De’Von Achane. Yes, Mitchell is fast, but he is also a UDFA who has not gotten any burn until this week in a blowout win against the Seahawks. Gus Edwards is obviously still around and trusted in that Baltimore offense and Justice Hill is back and healthy as well. Best case scenario for Mitchell at this point is 10 touches a game in a crowded backfield in which Gus Edwards is the goal line back. While I do suggest bidding on Mitchell, because there is a chance he continues to impress and takes over as the lead back, I do believe it will end up being a frustrating situation for fantasy managers.

Khalil Herbert (CHI RB)

Roster Percentage: 62%

FAAB Recommendation: 10-15%

In an under the radar injury report, Khalil Herbert was listed as a full participant in Monday’s practice, putting him on pace to return in Thursday’s game against Carolina. We do not know how this Bears running room is going to sort out with D’Onta Foreman impressing in Herbert’s absence, but if the starting role goes back to Herbert, he will jump right back into RB2/flex territory and is certainly worth an add.

Demario Douglas (NE WR)

Roster Percentage: 35%

FAAB Recommendation: 10%

Demario Douglas took over as the de facto #1 WR in Week 9, playing the most snaps and seeing the most targets of all Patriots WRs. A 5/55 game is not awe inspiring but it is decent, especially in PPR leagues, and he was one questionable overturned call away from going 6/70. Douglas continues to have deep league appeal.

Kyler Murray (ARI QB)

Roster Percentage: 59%

FAAB Recommendation: 5-10%

Reports out of Arizona say that Kyler Murray is expected to start this weekend against Atlanta, which makes sense after Clayton Tune put together a very lackluster performance in a shutout loss in Week 9. I would be very hesitant to start Murray in Week 10 but he has clear upside moving forward.

Khalil Shakir (BUF WR)

Roster Percentage: 6%

FAAB Recommendation: 5%

After being a non-factor for a large portion of the season, the Bills have begun getting Khalil Shakir more involved over the last couple weeks. This carried over into Week 9 as Shakir caught all four targets for 4 receptions and 57 yards. He now has at least 4 targets in each of his last three games and his role could continue to increase if he continues to make plays for this struggling 5-4 Bills team. Another solid deep league option.

Leonard Fournette (BUF RB)

Roster Percentage: 30%

FAAB Recommendation: 5%

Leonard Fournette was inactive in Week 9 but the Bills once again struggled to get anything going in the running game with Cook and Murray. Do not be surprised if Fournette is active in Week 10 and sees 5-10 touches, with a real possibility that his role continues to increase week over week.
