Top Cash Plays:

Quarterbacks

I am paying down again at QB in cash this week.

Joe Burrow ($6,800)

The Bengals are back and Joe Burrow has the eye of the Bengal (get it?!) lately. He’s scored 25+ points in 3 of his last 4 outings. Burrow has also thrown 10 TD in his last 4 games. With RB Joe Mixon continuing to be inefficient, Burrow should continue his pass heavy ways as he ranks 6th in pass attempts. Expect Burrow to continue to produce big numbers in Week 10.

Derek Carr ($5,800)

Carr continues to be a steady contributor, producing 16 or more fantasy points the past 4 weeks. As disgusting as the Bears game was, Carr still managed 16 fantasy points. Carr ranks 4th in pass attempts and 9th in aDOT at 8.33.

Other options: If you really want to squeeze savings at the QB spot, Taylor Heinicke ($5,100) is a nice value. Despite questionable play-calling, Henicke still fought his way to 15 fantasy points. Heinicke also gets the bonus of facing the #1 matchup for opposing QBs in the Arizona Cardinals.

Running Back

Aaron Jones ($6,500)

Jones finally broke through his 50/50 split with fellow RB AJ Dillon in Week 9. Jones commanded a 60% rushing share vs. Dillon’s 27.3%. Jones also smashed Dillon in target share in Week 9, garnering 23.1% vs. Dillon’s 3.8%. As long as Jones is healthy he’s the Packers RB you want and you can get him at a great price in Week 10. Jones also gets the 10th best matchup for opposing RBs in the Steelers. Start Jones with confidence in Week 10.

Joe Mixon ($6,200)

Mr. inefficient makes the cash list this week. Mixon is 35th in yards/carry, however, cash games are about volume, and Mixon ranking 7th in rushing attempts and 4th in red zone opportunities overrides his inefficiencies. Another bonus for Mixon is the matchup as the Texans rank as the 8th best matchup for opposing RBs.

Wide Receiver

Amon Ra St. Brown ($8,300)

The sun God has been incredibly reliable in 2023. He’s 4th in TTaV (True Target Value), 11th in targets and 12th in target share. St. Brown has 33 targets over his last three games which should bode well in his matchup against the Chargers. The Chargers rank as the 11th best matchup for opposing WRs.

DeAndre Hopkins ($6,000)

We all saw the Buccaneers secondary meltdown like Chernobyl last week and now “Nuk” Hopkins gets to roam free against them in Week 10. Hopkins has had a resurgence with rookie QB Will Levis starting. He currently sits 10th in target share (27.5%), 9th in aDOT (14.11) and 9th in red zone opportunities. Expect Hopkins to wreak havoc on the Bucs secondary.

Diontae Johnson ($5,400)

Once again Diontae Johnson is back to his stud PPR ways. He’s had double digit fantasy points in his past three games which has coincided with 29 targets over that same timeframe. The Packers rank as the 12th best matchup for opposing WRs, so Johnson should be able to take advantage of the matchup and provide some pop to your cash lineups.

Other options: Christian Kirk ($6,000), Jahan Dotson ($5,000)

Tight End

Dalton Schultz ($4,900)

Schultz has been one of the hottest TEs lately outside of a trip to Carolina. He’s scored double digit fantasy points in 4 of his last 5 games. He has also had 7+ targets in 3 of his last 5 games. Schultz has been lighting up the stat sheet, here are a few of his ranks:

  • 9th in targets

  • 8th in True Target Value (TTaV)

  • 3rd in Rec TDs

  • 9th in target share (17.9%)

  • 5th in red zone opportunities

  • 8th in PPR PPG at 10.2

The Bengals’ defense can be beaten over the middle as evidenced by their ranking as the 2nd best matchup for opposing TEs. Trust Schultz to get the job done for you in Week 10.

Trey McBride ($3,500)

Trey McBride should feel like he’s won the lottery this week. He gets QB Kyler Murray back and gets a great matchup against the Falcons. The Falcons rank as the 5th best matchup for opposing TEs.

D/ST

Pittsburgh Steelers ($3,800)

Nearly a copy and paste from last week, QB Jordan Love continues to struggle. Since Week 3, Love has thrown 8 INTs, 5 TDs, and has lost 3 fumbles. Love was also sacked four times last week. The Steelers are 9th in pressure rate and with the home crowd behind them, they should make it a long, miserable day for Jordan Love.

Favorite stacks:

1. CJ Stroud + Nico Collins/Nathaniel Dell + Dalton Schultz with Ja’Marr Chase/Joe Mixon bring back. Plenty of ways to get unique in this game.

2. Joe Burrow + Ja’Marr Chase + Joe Mixon with Nathaniel Dell/Nico Collins/Dalton Schultz bring back.

3. Kyler Murray + Marquise Brown + Trey McBride with Drake London (if healthy)/Jonnu Smith bring back. If you go McBride, I wouldn’t use Jonnu. Stick with Drake London if he gets cleared to play.

GPP Plays:

Quarterbacks

Kyler Murray ($5,900)

We don’t know how well Kyler will perform in his return but we know he’s expected to be fully healthy and that’s good enough for me. The Atlanta defense has been decent but I expect Kyler, with stud weapons of WR Marquise Brown and TE Trey McBride, to light up this Falcons secondary.

Dak Prescott ($6,700)

It’s no secret that Dak has been excellent as of late. The reason he doesn’t make my cash list is the high risk of a blowout. However, if the blowout occurs from Dak throwing, then he can payoff huge in GPPs this week. The Giants defense can be attacked from any angle. With RB Tony Pollard expected to be heavy chalk, Dak makes for a nice leverage play.

Running Back

Travis Etienne ($7,100)

Surprisingly, the 49ers defense is the 4th best matchup for opposing receiving RBs. With Etienne ranking 6th in targets, 8th in target share, and 4th in total receiving yards, he’s the 49ers boogeyman. The Jaguars offense has worked mostly through Etienne this season and I expect that to continue with success in Week 10.

Tyler Allgeier ($4,700)

The Cardinals defense has been bad as they rank as the 5th best matchup for opposing RBs. Allgeier is 9th in red zone opportunities and I expect him to hit pay dirt multiple times this week.

Wide Receivers

Ceedee Lamb ($8,500)

Lamb has been on fire lately. He has commanded 30 targets over his last two games and scored 76 fantasy points over that same timeframe. Again, there is a risk of a blowout here, but hopefully it will be at the hands of Lamb and Dak.

Brandon Aiyuk ($7,100)/Deebo Samuel ($6,200)

The way to beat the Jaguars defense is through the air. The Jaguars rank as the 9th best matchup for opposing defenses. We’ve seen both Aiyuk and Samuel break slates before and with QB Brock Purdy struggling, I expect the 49ers WR core to be used close to the line of scrimmage and often.

Other options: Tank Dell ($5,500), Calvin Ridley ($5,600), Marquise Brown ($5,200)

I am comfortable using my cash TEs recommendations for GPPs, however, I’ll give you another option for this week.

TE Taysom Hill ($5,100)

Hill is always eligible as a GPP play. He has gotten more and more involved as the season has progressed and I do not expect that to change.

TE Daniel Bellinger ($3,000)

Bellinger is an interesting punt play at TE. He had 3 receptions for 43 yards in Week 9 and gets a plus matchup in Week 10. Dallas ranks as the 9th best matchup for opposing TEs.

D/ST

Jacksonville Jaguars ($2,400)

QB Brock Purdy has been proven vulnerable lately. His last start he was sacked twice, lost a fumble and threw 2 INTs. The Jaguars are blitzing the 9th most this season on 32.8% of snaps. I expect this to be problematic for Purdy (but his ancillary pieces can still produce).

Lone Ranger (sub $5,000 player that can score over 10 fantasy points)

Dotson had a stellar week in Week 9 scoring 16.9 points. Michael Thomas, on the other hand, did absolutely nothing. Which brings me to 10-9 on the season. Time to continue to stay over .500!

WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba ($4,100)

JSN is becoming a steady part of the Seahawks’ offense. He has double digit fantasy points in 3 straight games and should produce another against a flailing Commanders defense. The Commanders rank as the 4th best matchup for opposing WRs. Just keep an eye on the practice reports.
