Waiver Wire Targets: Week 8

Heading into Week 8, we have another enticing list of players available on the waiver wire. So, let’s jump right into it!

I would like to add a disclaimer here that FAAB recommendations vary widely from league to league, roster construction, available players, etc. While I try to give a roundabout number to bid on these players, you know your leagues better than I do, so you should ultimately bid the amount that you feel is right. There is also a big difference between leagues with minimum $0 bids and minimum $1 bids that could adjust the bid amount, as well. If you want more waiver wire help, you should join patreon.com/brotofantasy for the waiver wire podcast that dives deeper into available players not mentioned in this article, as well as TE and QB streamers of the week. You can also join the discord and ask me more direct waiver questions with info about your league so that I can give you the most informed advice that I can. Hope to see you there!

*Players listed in order of FAAB Recommendation

**Roster percentage based on Yahoo

D’Onta Foreman (CHI RB)

Roster Percentage: 65%

FAAB Recommendation: 25-50%

D’Onta Foreman did not have a huge fantasy day in his return in Week 6 but he certainly ran well. In Week 7, with the reigns of the backfield in his hands once more, Foreman completely tore the Raiders apart, rushing for 89 yards on 16 carries with 2 TDs, adding in 3 receptions for 31 yards and a receiving TD, as well. Foreman had to have earned the starting RB role, even if Roschon Johnson returns this week. If he is still available in your league, go grab him now.

Darrell Henderson (LAR RB)

Roster Percentage: 25%

FAAB Recommendation: 30%

Royce Freeman (LAR RB)

Roster Percentage: 28%

FAAB Recommendation: 5%

Combining the new RB duo in LA. With Kyren Williams on IR for the next three weeks at least, LA looks like it will be the Darrell Henderson show with Royce Freeman mixed in there as well. In the first game without Kyren Williams, Darrell Henderson came off the couch and Royce Freeman off the practice squad to take over the backfield, with Zach Evans not seeing a single snap. Henderson ended up with a 57% snap share, 18 carries and 2 targets, while Freeman received a 43% snap share with 12 carries and 0 targets. Henderson had a nice game for fantasy managers who took the chance on him, totaling 13.1 fantasy points on the day. Henderson looks like a solid RB2 option for as long as Williams is out, with Freeman a decent handcuff/low end bye week fill in.

Josh Palmer (LAC WR)

Roster Percentage: 59%

FAAB Recommendation: 20-25%

Josh Palmer still being sub-60% rostered is wild. He is a very solid WR3 option and needs to be added if still available in your league.

Kendrick Bourne (NE WR)

Roster Percentage: 26%

FAAB Recommendation: 15%

While the Patriots offense is certainly still in a bad state, they have showed signs of life recently, combining for 46 points over the last two weeks and shockingly taking down the Buffalo Bills this past weekend. During this span, the clear leading receiver has been Kendrick Bourne. Over the past two weeks, Bourne has totaled 18 targets, 16 receptions, 152 receiving yards, 1 TD and a total of 27.6 half ppr fantasy points. He finds himself in WR3 consideration heading into Week 8.

Josh Downs (IND WR)

Roster Percentage:36%

FAAB Recommendation: 15%

Josh Downs and Gardner Minshew seem to have found quite the connection. Downs has put up double digit fantasy points each of the last three weeks, finding the end zone twice while totaling 20 targets. We cannot expect Downs to be this consistent rest of season but he is certainly putting his name on the map as a viable WR3/Flex option.

Tank Dell (HOU WR)

Roster Percentage: 48%

FAAB Recommendation: 10-15%

Tank Dell was looking like a strong fantasy asset early on in the season before a down game and injuries took him out of the picture. Now available in more than half of Yahoo leagues, Dell is certainly someone to target on the waiver wire once more. He is expected back in Week 8 and has the chance to be a solid WR3 option rest of season, especially with his bye week now in the rear-view mirror as well.

Emari Demercado (ARI RB)

Roster Percentage: 15%

FAAB Recommendation: 10%

A week after Keontay Ingram and Damien Williams out touched Emari Demercado, no one could have expected Demecardo to be an absolute workhorse in Week 7, but that is exactly what happened. Demercado received 80% of snaps, 13 carries and 5 targets while Damien Williams saw just 18% of snaps and a single carry with no targets and Keontay Ingram saw a total of 0 snaps. Demercado looked solid in this game as well, totaling 75 yards, while posting a respectable fantasy day of 9.5 half ppr fantasy points. While his ceiling is still capped in this offense, he looks like a flex worthy option at the very least for as long as James Conner remains out.

Devin Singletary (HOU RB)

Roster Percentage: 14%

FAAB Recommendation: 5%

Last time the Texans were on the field, Devin Singletary played 54% of snaps to just 33% for Dameon Pierce. Singletary received 12 carries and 2 targets, to 13 carries and 0 targets for Pierce. This was the first time this season that we saw Singletary out-snap and out-touch Pierce. The Texans backfield has struggled all season long so it was notable to see Singletary jump ahead of Pierce and it will be very interesting to see how this backfield plays out in Week 8. Either way, Singletary definitely needs to be rostered at a higher percentage.

Taysom Hill (NO TE)

Roster Percentage: 9%

FAAB Recommendation: 5%

This is a gross recommendation but Hill has seen 13 targets over the past two weeks and ran in a TD as well. This is now back to back weeks of useful production in the weak TE landscape, which certainly puts Hill back on the radar.

Demario Douglas (NE WR)

Roster Percentage: 0%

FAAB Recommendation: 0-2%

The New England Patriots have been devoid of playmakers in the WR room all season long. Rookie Demario Douglas finally gave Mac Jones something to be excited about, making several notable plays against the Bills in his first week back after dealing with a concussion. Douglas played the second most snaps of all Patriots WRs and saw 6 targets, which was good for a 20% target share. He even added in a 20 yard rush, the longest rush from a Patriots player this season. Douglas is a sneaky add in deep leagues to see if the Patriots keep riding the juice of the exciting rookie. If he continues to earn a target share of 20% or above, he will find himself in weekly flex consideration.

Rico Dowdle (DAL RB)

Roster Percentage: 3%

FAAB Recommendation: 0-2%

Pure handcuff add. If you have the space, no reason not to hold Dowdle on your bench.
