Waiver Wire Targets: Week 14

Heading into Week 14, we have another enticing list of players available on the waiver wire. So, let’s jump right into it!

I would like to add a disclaimer here that FAAB recommendations vary widely from league to league, roster construction, available players, etc. While I try to give a roundabout number to bid on these players, you know your leagues better than I do, so you should ultimately bid the amount that you feel is right. There is also a big difference between leagues with minimum $0 bids and minimum $1 bids that could adjust the bid amount, as well.

If you want more waiver wire help, you should join patreon.com/brotofantasy for the waiver wire podcast that dives deeper into available players not mentioned in this article, as well as QB and DEF streamers of the week. You can also join the discord and ask me more direct waiver questions with info about your league so that I can give you the most informed advice that I can. Hope to see you there!

*Players listed in order of FAAB Recommendation

**Roster percentage based on Yahoo

Ezekiel Elliott (NE RB)

Roster Percentage: 40%

FAAB Recommendation: 70%

If you need a plug and play RB for Week 14, Zeke is your guy. Even in a game where the Patriots were shutout last week, Zeke still went for double digit fantasy points because the offense continued to run through the Patriots backfield, with 17 rush attempts and 5 targets going Zeke’s way. While a matchup with the Pittsburgh defense is not easy, Zeke is in line for a massive role with Rhamondre Stevenson likely out.

Keaton Mitchell (BAL RB)

Roster Percentage: 54%

FAAB Recommendation: 70%

Somehow Keaton Mitchell is still only 54% rostered in Yahoo leagues. Mitchell set a career high in touches with twelve in Week 12 prior to the bye and has been a usable asset three of his last four games played. His role is only going to grow.

Isaiah Likely (BAL TE)

Roster Percentage: 36%

FAAB Recommendation: 40%

The Ravens return from bye with a very good matchup for Likely against the Los Angeles Rams at home. Likely looked good in his first game sans starting in Week 12 and has upside in this offense looking for pass catching weapons. He is very good TE option this week.

Romeo Doubs (GB WR)

Roster Percentage: 54%

FAAB Recommendation: 40%

Romeo Doubs has been a solid WR3/Flex basically the entire season yet he is still just 54% rostered. With Christian Watson dealing with a hamstring injury, Doubs could be the WR1 heading into a matchup with the New York Giants. Jordan Love has been very good of late which should provide Doubs with a solid floor as well. WR3 with upside.

Tyjae Spears (TEN RB)

Roster Percentage: 36%

FAAB Recommendation: 25%

Spears would likely be the number one waiver wire target on the week if Derrick Henry was not somehow able to avoid concussion protocol but apparently, he did. Keep an eye on Henry injury reports throughout the week because if he is unable to go, Spears becomes a plug and play RB2.

Jonathan Mingo (CAR WR)

Roster Percentage: 7%

FAAB Recommendation: 20%

Jonathan Mingo has now seen at least six targets each of the last four weeks, including a career high ten targets last week in the Panthers first game without Frank Reich. Mingo has not been able to steadily produce at any point this season but he now has back to back 60+ yard performances and is seeing the field a ton. Adam Theilen has completely fallen off since his hot high end WR1 start to the season, making Mingo an interesting flex play moving forward.

Gerald Everett (LAC TE)

Roster Percentage: 39%

FAAB Recommendation: 15%

Gerald Everett has 8 receptions, 87 yards and 1 TD over the last two weeks for the Chargers, in an offense completely deprived of playmakers outside of Keenan Allen. Everett finally seems back to full health and he has a tremendous matchup against the Broncos on the horizon. He is a solid streaming option in Week 14.

Zay Jones (JAX WR)

Roster Percentage: 21%

FAAB Recommendation: 15%

The Jaguars had a rough injury day in their loss to the Bengals on Monday night, losing Christian Kirk after his first reception to a groin injury, and later losing QB Trevor Lawrence to an ankle injury that certainly looked like it could be significant. Zay Jones’ upside relies entirely on these injuries, so keep an eye on both, however, if Kirk misses time and Lawrence is able to return, Jones would be a solid WR3/Flex option opposite Calvin Ridley.

Kenneth Gainwell (PHI RB)

Roster Percentage: 27%

FAAB Recommendation: 20%

D’Andre Swift got hit hard late in the 49ers game which led to him missing the final couple of drives. The extent of his injury is unknown at the moment but it did not look like anything too serious. The Eagles rushing attack has been on the decline of late but if Swift does miss time, Gainwell automatically becomes a volume based RB2.
