Week 11 Injury Round Up

Aaron Rodgers - QB Green Bay Packers: (Toe) Dealing with a lot of pain but should be good for week 13

Rodgers told reporters after the Packers loss to the Minnesota Vikings that he’s in pain and the issue is “a little worse than turf toe.” It is now reported that he may be dealing with a fractured toe.

“I’m just going to have to get to the bye and hope I can get some healing over the bye week,” Rodgers told ESPN. “Probably the same schedule next week.”

Based on this statement, Packers fans and Rodgers fantasy managers can expect the star quarterback under center in Green Bay’s massive Week 13 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams.

Kyler Murray - QB Arizona Cardinals: (Ankle) Likely to be back after the Cardinals bye week

The Cardinals starting quarterback has now missed three straight games dealing with an ankle injury. The good news for Cardinals fans though has been that back-up QB Colt McCoy has done enough to lead the Cardinals to victories in 2 of their 3 games as starting QB.

The Cardinals now enter their week 12 bye with the best record in the NFL. Murray will get another week of rest and should be ready to go for week 13 against the Chicago Bears.

Justin Fields - QB Chicago Bears: (Ribs) Avoided serious injury, out for Week 12

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport has reported that Fields avoided broken ribs in the Bears Week 11 loss to the Tyler Huntley led Baltimore Ravens. With the Bears playing on Thanksgiving Day against the Detroit Lions, Andy Dalton has already been named the starter.

Alvin Kamara - RB New Orleans Saints: (knee) Questionable for Week 12

The Saints have not had their star running back in the lineup for the past two weeks due to a knee injury suffered back in Week 9. New Orleans listed their injury report for Monday’s practice and once again Kamara was a non-participant. With a quick turnaround for the Saints, who play on Thanksgiving Day against the Buffalo Bills, it is looking unlikely that Kamara will be able to return.

Najee Harris - RB Pittsburgh Steelers: (Head) Seems okay

After Harris was flipped up into the air and hit in the head on his way back down to earth, the rookie running back went to the sideline and was taken to the blue medical tent for further evaluation. Good news for Steelers fans and fantasy managers of Harris is that the rookie running back returned for Pittsburgh’s final offensive drive.

Harris will likely undergo some sort of testing to determine his status going forward, but if his return to action this past Sunday is any indication of his future, he will be good to go for week 12.

Elijah Mitchell - RB San Francisco 49ers: (Finger) Missed Week 11 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars

Niners general manager John Lynch said before the game on Sunday that Elijah Mitchell suffered the “type of break they thought he could function. But the surgery might have been different than we anticipated.” Lynch added that “pain tolerance is not an issue, but he has to be able to function.”

Mitchell has a chance to return this upcoming Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings, but we will have to monitor the situation.

Michael Carter - RB New York Jets: (Ankle) Out several weeks

The Jets rookie running back exited in the third quarter after suffering an ankle injury on a rushing play. He will now miss several weeks with Tevin Coleman and Ty Johnson splitting backfield duties for New York.

Chris Carson - RB Seattle Seahawks: (Neck) Will undergo season-ending surgery

Pete Carroll said that Carson is having neck surgery now “so that he can come back and play next season,” which just so happens to be the final year of his contract.

With Carson officially ruled out for the rest of the season, Seattle’s backfield will be a mixture of Alex Collins, Travis Homer, DeeJay Dallas, and Rashad Penny.

CeeDee Lamb - WR Dallas Cowboys: (Concussion) Game time decision

Shockingly, all signs are now pointing up for CeeDee Lamb to be active in the Cowboys Thanksgiving matchup against the Raiders. It will be a game time decision though, as concussions are not an injury to take lightly.

Amari Cooper - WR Dallas Cowboys: (COVID) Placed on the reserve/COVID list

Cooper tested positive for COVID last Friday and is unvaccinated, meaning he will also miss Dallas’ Thanksgiving game.

A.J. Brown - WR Tennessee Titans: (Chest) Likely avoided a serious injury but will undergo further testing

Brown was in and out of the Titans lineup Sunday with various injuries throughout the team’s surprising loss to the Houston Texans. X-Rays after the game did not give the Titans reason for long-term concern, so the second year wide-out will likely not be forced to miss much time.

Marcus Johnson - WR Tennessee Titans: (hamstring) Out

Marcus Johnson hurt his hamstring in the first quarter against Houston and left the game. He will now be out for the foreseeable future.

Jarvis Landry - WR Cleveland Browns: (Knee) Re-aggravated knee in Week 11

Landry was in and out of the Browns lineup in their week 11 victory over the Detroit Lions because of a knee injury that he has been dealing with most of the season. “I think it’s probably the same one, but I do not know how (significant),” Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said postgame.

On Monday, Stefanski told reporters that he expects Landry to continue playing through his injury, so expect Landry back in the Browns lineup this Sunday.

Allen Robinson - WR Chicago Bears: (Hamstring) DNP for Monday’s practice, unlikely to play on Thanksgiving

Robinson missed the Bears most recent game against the Ravens dealing with a hamstring injury. The team released its Monday practice report and Robinson was listed as DNP. With the Bears playing the early game on Thanksgiving, it looks unlikely that Robinson will be able to suit up.

Adam Trautman: TE New Orleans Saints: (MCL Sprain) expected to miss 4-6 weeks

ESPN’s Adam Schefter has reported that the New Orleans Saints tight end is expected to miss four to six weeks after suffering a sprained MCL in the Saints week 11 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
