Week 10 Injury Round-Up

Elijah Mitchell - RB San Francisco 49ers: (Broken Finger) Week-to-Week

minifeednews.com

Mitchell broke a finger in Monday Night’s game but his status is still uncertain. There are rumblings he can play through it, while others believe he will have to miss a week or two. If he is forced to miss time, Jeffery Wilson Jr. will likely take over as San Francisco’s lead back.

Ben Roethlisberger - QB Pittsburgh Steelers: (COVID) Placed on the reserve/covid list

Roethlisberger was forced to miss the Steelers Week 10 game against the Detroit Lions after being placed on the league’s reserve/covid list. The good news for Steelers fans is that Roethlisberger recently claimed that he is vaccinated, meaning he will likely return for Week 11 against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Kyler Murray - QB Arizona Cardinals: (Ankle) Trending up for week 11

Murray has missed the Cardinals last two games dealing with a sprained ankle. ProFootballTalk has reported that Murray is “making good progress” in his recovery and “there’s a good chance” he’ll play in Week 11. With a big road divisional matchup against the Seattle Seahawks, the Cardinals will want their star QB available this Sunday.

Sam Darnold - QB Carolina Panthers: (Shoulder) Placed on injured reserve

The Panthers placed Darnold on injured reserve which could mean the end of the “Darnold era” in Carolina. The team signed Cam Newton to a surprisingly hefty deal that likely means that the franchise wants Cam to be the starter for the rest of the season — barring any injury.

Darnold could return to full health in a few weeks but could have little chance of earning back his starting gig.

Cordarrelle Patterson - RB Atlanta Falcons: (Ankle) Week-to-Week

The Falcons do-it-all running back sprained his ankle in Atlanta’s week 10 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. As a result of the injury, Tom Pelissero of NFL Media has reported that Patterson could miss “a couple of weeks.” It doesn’t help that the Falcons play on Thursday night this week against New England. Prepare to be without CPatt for at least one week.

Aaron Jones - RB Green Bay Packers: (Sprained MCL) Week-to-Week

ESPN’s Adam Schefter has reported that Aaron Jones suffered a sprained MCL in the Packers Week 10 victory over the Seattle Seahawks. Green Bay’s starting running back was quickly ruled out for the game following his third quarter knee injury which left him in tears as he exited the game. Thankfully, it seems to be a mild sprain, one that is expected to keep Jones out for 1-2 weeks. AJ Dillion is now a must start option.

Alvin Kamara - RB New Orleans Saints: (Knee) Status uncertain

Kamara missed the Saints week 10 game against the Titans dealing with a knee injury. The Saints RB1 missed practice Wednesday and Thursday, leading to his absence on Sunday. Recently acquired Mark Ingram stepped up in Kamara’s absence and will continue to do so if Kamara is forced to miss any more time. Ingram rushed for 47 yards and a score and caught four passes on seven targets for 61 yards in the Saints road loss to the Titans.

Chris Carson - RB Seattle Seahawks: (Neck) Could return for Week 11

Carson missed yet another contest this past Sunday still dealing with a neck injury that began five weeks ago. Good news for Seahawks fans though, as Carson returned to practice this past week and was a “game-time” decision going into Sunday. If signs continue to progress upwards, Carson should be able to suit up in Week 11.

Damien Harris - RB New England Patriots: (Concussion) Status uncertain

Harris was forced to sit out the Pats week 10 game against the Cleveland Browns still dealing with a concussion he endured in week 9. Rookie RB Rhamondre Stevenson stepped up in his absence and rushed for 100 and two scores in New England's dominant 45-7 victory over Cleveland. He also saw 5 targets, a number unfamiliar to Harris. With a quick turnaround Thursday night game against the Falcons, Harris is still a question mark. He was active in the team’s walkthrough, making his return seem a bit more likely.

Robert Woods - WR Los Angeles Rams: (ACL) Out for the season

Robert Woods suffered a torn ACL. The ice cream sandwich is now out of commission. OBJ could be a legitimate threat down the stretch for the Rams and fantasy teams alike.

Julio Jones - WR Tennessee Titans: (Hamstring) Placed on injured reserve

Jones re-aggravated his hamstring at the end of last week and was placed on injured reserve. With just 21 catches for 356 yards and no touchdowns this season, Julio is in the midst of a lost season.

Antonio Brown - WR Tampa Bay Buccaneers: (Ankle) Status uncertain

AB was forced to miss another game but was trending upwards in terms of his recovery. As of this moment, he is still doubtful to play in week 11.

Dallas Goedert - TE Philadelphia Eagles: (Concussion) Concussion protocol

Goedert was hit hard in the first quarter and was quickly ruled out with a concussion. He will be placed in the league’s concussion protocol and attempt to be cleared in time for Week 11. Goedert managers will need to keep a close eye on him, as a replacement TE may be needed.

Rob Gronkowski - TE Tampa Bay Buccaneers: (Back) Week-to-Week

According to Bucs head coach Bruce Arians, Gronk won’t be back to full health for another week or two. O.J. Howard and Cameron Brate will continue to share tight end duties with Gronk sidelined. Between the two, Howard has drawn a target on 19.4 percent of his routes this season, slightly higher than Brate’s 11.3 percent target per route rate.

Ricky Seals-Jones - TE Washington Football Team: (Hip) Status uncertain

Seals-Jones exited Washington’s upset victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with an apparent hip injury. If the veteran TE were to miss the Football’s team Week 11 matchup against the Carolina Panthers, Sammis Reyes would presumably be the next tight end up for Washington, as Logan Thomas is still questionable.

Logan Thomas - TE Washington Football Team: (Hamstring) Week-to-Week

Washington Head Coach Ron Rivera said Logan Thomas, who was placed on IR after week 4, “Is just not ready to be put on the football field.” Washington has been taking their time with Thomas’ recovery so as to not rush him back. His status for week 11 is unknown, but he is likely on the wrong side of questionable.
