Week 18: Clay's DFS Corner

Welcome to the BRoto Weekly DFS article!! Here we’re going to identify some of our favorite plays/fades and try to help you “bink” that GPP or smash in cash games!! Let’s have another #printfest for Week 18!!

Best games to choose players from:

  1. ARI @ SEA O/U- 47.5

    • Implied totals: ARI: 27, SEA: 20.5

  2. SF @ LAR O/U- 44.5

    • Implied totals: SF: 20, LAR: 24.5

  3. NYJ @ BUF O/U- 41.5

    • Implied totals: NYJ: 12.5, BUF: 29

Top Plays GPP:

QB (Some of these plays may overlap with cash):

Taysom Hill $7700 FD.

The Saints still have something to play for and Atlanta is frankly just bad. Atlanta also presents Hill with the third best matchup for QBs, giving up 18.8% points over average to the position. This Sunday could be a big day for Hill against a bad defense in a weatherproof Dome.

Carson Wentz $7200 FD.

This one feels gross, however, the Jaguars rank as the eleventh best matchup for RBs and the fifth bet matchup for QBs, so there could be a lot of Colts goodness coming our way Sunday. If rookie QB Mac Jones can slice and dice this Jags’ defense for three TDs, Wentz can find Pittman/Hilton for a couple TDs easily.

Justin Fields $7100.

Fields is priced up a bit, but I don’t think we are going to get any quality cheap QB options this week. Fields seemed to be getting up to speed in his last two games played before being sidelined with an ankle injury. In those two games he had a combined three TDs and 16 rushes for 109 yards. This Sunday, Fields faces the Vikings, who are allowing 8.8% points over average to QBs, the 8th best matchup for QBs, in a dome.

Devin Singletary $6700 FD.

In Week 18, Singletary faces the best matchup for RBs in the Jets. The Jets are still allowing 48.2% points over average to RBs despite stuffing the Bucs last week. Even better, Singletary has had an 80% or better rushing share over the last three weeks. Singletary could have another huge week and he’s both cash and GPP viable.

Nick Chubb $8200 FD

Sure, it was back in November, but Chubb throttled this Bengals defense for 137 yards and 2 TDs in their first matchup. With the Bengals not having anything to play for and resting their starters, there’s no reason Chubb can’t have another big day here.

WR:

Deebo Samuel $8800 FD.

Deebo scored a rushing and receiving TD in his last game against the Rams. Good news is, Deebo was productive with Trey Lance in, so whether it’s Lance or Garoppolo, Deebo will still get the ball. Make no mistake, Deebo is the glue to this 49ers offense and the 49ers need to win. Deebo will get his touches.

AJ Brown $7400 FD.

AJ Brown struggled last week, however a dose of the Houston Texans secondary should fix his woes. The Titans need to win to lock up the top seed in the AFC, so look for Brown to get the ball a ton.

Darnell Mooney $6300 FD.

Just because the Bears QB play has been atrocious doesn’t mean we should overlook Mooney. He commanded an impressive 13 targets last week and now he draws an awful Vikings defense, who rank as the best matchup for WRs per BRoto, allowing 18.7% points over average to WRs. This could be another double-digit target week for Mooney.

Terry McLaurin $6700 FD.

McLaurin has been trending up lately due to his increased targets. Over the last three weeks, McLaurin has seen 4, 6 and 8 targets, respectively. He also torched the Giants defense earlier this year for 11/107/1 and he should also be low-rostered.

TE:

James O’Shaughnessy $5000 FD.

If you want to pay down at TE this week, O’Shaughnessy is your guy. The Colts are the third best matchup for TEs, giving up 37.1% points over average to TEs. Just make sure James O is active (he’s currently questionable with a hip issue).

Zach Ertz $5600 FD.

You know what happens if you don’t play Ertz against the number one matchup for TEs right? You get an Ertz-donut. Terrible jokes aside, Ertz has been a target machine lately. He has 40 targets over his last four games. He’s due for some positive TD regression and Seattle is the perfect remedy for that.

D/ST:

SF D/ST $3800.

Kyle Shanahan has had Sean McVay’s number. The 49ers have won four out of their last five against the Rams. In their last meeting, Stafford was only sacked twice but threw two INT’s. Also, Stafford has played poorly lately, even against an awful Ravens defense. This one is risky but could pay huge dividends.

Top Cash Fades:

QB:

Josh Allen $8800 FD.

It seems like a smash spot, yet Allen barely salvaged his day with two rushing TDs. Allen will still be involved, but maybe it’s another Singletary game.

RB:

Dalvin Cook $8700 FD.

He’s only had 106 rushing yards and six targets over his past two games while dealing with an illness. Cook doesn’t feel like a great play this week.

Alvin Kamara $9000 FD.

Kamara makes this list again. His carries have leveled off between 11-13 the past three weeks. He does, however, have 16 targets over his past three weeks. I just don’t feel great about the Saints offense even in a great matchup against the Falcons. Feel free to use Kamara in GPPs but not cash this week.

WR:

Jaylen Waddle $6800 FD.

Waddle was bad in a good matchup last week and now draws a tough New England secondary. I don’t want any part of this Miami offense.

TE:

Mark Andrews $8500 FD.

Andrews finally cooled off last week and unfortunately draws a stout Pittsburgh defense this week. Andrews went for 4/50 in his last game vs. the Steelers, which is fine, but not worth is high price point. I’d be a little more bullish if Huntley is the QB this week vs. Lamar.

Dawson Knox $6000 FD.

The more the Bills run, the less targets Knox gets, 5, 3, 2 tzhe past three weeks respectively. He was fortunate enough to get a TD vs. New England, but you shouldn’t be paying $6000 for a TD-dependent TE.

D/ST:

IND D/ST $4800 FD.

Yes, the Jaguars have been bad, but Indy’s defense isn’t great. Again, I hate paying up for D/ST that aren’t elite. Fade the Indy defense this week.

Top Plays Cash:

QB:

Kyler Murray $8400 FD.

Kyler has over 500 passing yards and 114 rushing yards over his last two games. In a game with the season on the line, I’m trusting Kyler to get the job done.

Taysom Hill $7700 FD. See GPP section.

Justin Fields $7100 FD. See GPP section.

Trey Lance $7000 FD. If Jimmy G is out.

RB:

D’Onta Foreman $6900 FD.

The Foreman show has been nice, and this week is the show’s finale. Foreman gets a Houston defense that’s giving up 18.3% points over average to RBs and rank as the sixth best matchup for RBs. With Derrick Henry returning, it could be an epic finale for Foreman.

David Montgomery $7600 FD.

Montgomery’s receiving work cooled off last week, but he also faced the Giants. In a potential back-and-forth game, I like Monty again this week. He has back-to-back weeks scoring 20 FanDuel points.

Devin Singletary $6700 FD.

Singletary is still too cheap at $6700. Jam him in your lineups again this week. Also, see GPP section.

WR:

Cooper Kupp $10200 FD.

Another week, another double-digit target and reception week for Kupp. The only question here is do you play Kupp or Jonathan Taylor this week?

Marquez Callaway $5900 FD.

Callaway has 24 targets over his last three games. He did have a TD in his first matchup with the Falcons. He’s getting enough targets to be cash viable.

Brandin Cooks $7100 FD.

Cooks has 32 targets over his last three games. Although the Titans just clown-hammered the Dolphins, I expect Houston to fight to the final whistle making Cooks a viable cash play.

Cyril Grayson $5600 FD.

Per playerprofiler.com, Grayson has had a 70%+ snap share the past two weeks. He had eight targets last week and now that Antonio Brown is gone, Grayson should be the beneficiary (RIP Tyler Johnson’s value).

TE:

Zach Ertz $5600 FD. See GPP section.

Rob Gronkowski $7400 FD.

The matchup isn’t great, but with no Travis Kelce or Dallas Goedert on the main slate, pay up for Gronk’s rapport with Brady.

D/ST:

TEN D/ST $4700 FD.

The Titans defense is back baby!! Per pro-football reference, the Titans are eight in total pressures and should be able to cause Davis Mills problems.

BUF D/ST $4500 FD.

The Buffalo defense is an absolute smash this week. The Bills are number one in defensive pressure rate and hurry rate per pro-football reference. It’s going to be tough sledding for Zach Wilson and the Jets this week.

Lone-ranger play:

Marquez Callaway $5900 FD. Callaway has been the main pass-catcher for the Saints. In a must win game against a terrible Falcons defense, expect Callaway to have a nice fantasy day. He had 10 targets last week for what it’s worth.

Final Thoughts

  1. Seattle/Arizona game stacks are looking good this week.

  2. Carson Wentz and Pittman stacks will provide nice leverage against Jonathan Taylor this week.

  3. Deebo seems under-rostered so far this week. Feel free to fire him up as Jimmy G should be starting for the 49ers.

  4. Tannehill & AJB stacks also look to be under-rostered this week.

Best of luck in Week 18, go get that money!!!!
