Week 15: Clay's DFS Corner

Welcome to the BRoto Weekly DFS article!!  Here we’re going to identify some of our favorite plays/fades and try to help you “bink” that GPP or smash in cash games! Let’s have another #printfest for week 15!

Games to Target:

  1. ARI @ DET O/U- 47.5

    • Implied totals: ARI: 30.25, DET: 17.25

  2. ATL @ SF O/U- 46.5

    • Implied totals: ATL: 18.5, SF: 28

  3. CIN @ DEN O/U- 44

    • Implied totals: CIN: 20.75, DEN: 23.2

Top plays GPP:

QB (Some of these plays may overlap with cash):

Dak Prescott ($7500 FD)

I’ll be honest, Dak damn near cost me a playoff spot in redraft last week. However, this week, he lucks out into a cakewalk matchup in the Giants. Herbert torched this defense last week for 275 yards and 3 TDs and I think Dak can produce similar numbers with a banged-up backfield.

Jimmy Garoppolo ($6700 FD)

NBC Sports

The Falcons are allowing 38.7% points over average (POA) to QBs and with all the injury issues at RB for SF, maybe Jimmy G’s arm gets a workout.

Joe Burrow ($7300)

I’m always going to have a couple of Joe Burrow GPP lineups. We’ve seen Burrow air it out in the past before and he has incredible weapons to throw too. The problem with this play is Denver, who are only giving up -15.5% points over average (POA) to QBs.

RB:

Royce Freeman ($5200 FD)

We saw what Titans RB D’Onta Foreman did last week against the Jaguars and that could be what Freeman produces this week if he gets the opportunity. It’s a gamble, but his cheap price point allows you to spend up at WR and TE.

D’Onta Foreman ($5800 FD)

We’re going back to Foreman again. Foreman had 13 rushes for 47 yards and 1 TD and now he gets a Steelers defense that suddenly can’t stop a nosebleed. The Steelers are allowing 10.4% points over average (POA) to RBs and ranks the 9th best matchup for RBs overall WR:

WR:

Van Jefferson/Odell Beckham Jr. ($6200/$6000 FD)

This is a nice leverage play considering Cooper Kupp will be heavily rostered.

Ja’Marr Chase ($7500 FD)

I’m always going to have some Chase in my GPP lineups because of his blow-up potential.

Chase Claypool ($6400 FD)

AP

Claypool has target shares of 20.5%, 19.5%, 9.7%, and 22.5% over the past 4 weeks, respectively. He’s getting usage while teams focus on stopping Najee Harris and Diontae Johnson. It also doesn’t hurt that Claypool gets the number 1 matchup for WRs in the Titans. The Titans are allowing 36.8% points over average (POA) to WRs .

TE:

Dawson Knox ($6500 FD)

Knox was awesome against the Bucs last week with a line of 7/60/1 and this week he draws the Panthers defense. The numbers don’t love this matchup, as Carolina is giving up -1.1% points over average (POA) to TEs, but that shouldn’t deter you from deploying Knox. The Bills will also be without Emmanuel Sanders this game, which in theory, should help Knox.

Brevin Jordan ($4900 FD)

Don’t look now, but Jordan has 11 targets and 1 TD over his last 2 games. Now, he squares off against the Jaguars, who are allowing 18.3% points over average (POA) to TEs.

D/ST:

LAR D/ST $4200.

Russell Wilson showed signs of life last week, however, this defense just annihilated the Cardinals and Kyler Murray. Almost all of Seattle’s WRs are on the COVID list and if they remain out with the game being moved, the Rams D/ST could have a big game this week.

Top cash fades:

QB:

Russell Wilson ($7200 FD)

If you’re looking to pay down at QB in cash games, just skip over Wilson. The Rams are giving up -6.8% points over average (POA) to QBs. With many of his WRs possibly missing the week, it would be wise to pass on Wilson this week.

RB:

Antonio Gibson ($6900 FD)

Gibson flopped last week and draws another tough matchup this week. The Eagles are the 7th-worst matchup for RBs, allowing -9.4% points over average (POA). With QB confusion in Washington, the Eagles can focus on stopping Gibson.

Aaron Jones ($7500 FD)

Aaron Jones is an electric RB, yet he’s now in a timeshare with AJ Dillon since Week 10:

Fade Jones in cash this week without any guarantee that he out touches his counterpart in the Green Bay backfield.

WR:

Deebo Samuel ($8200 FD)

Deebo is a great player, no doubt. Unfortunately, he’s playing RB more than he is WR, seeing only seven targets over the past 3 weeks combined. There’s no way I’m paying up for Deebo in cash when I can pay $300 more to get Davante Adams or $400 less for CeeDee Lamb.

Amari Cooper ($7000 FD)

Cooper had seven targets last week which was nice, however, his three previous games, he only had a total of 11. His inconsistent targets are pushing me away from rostering him in cash this week.

TE:

Dalton Schultz ($5600 FD)

The Schultz thing was fun while it lasted. Now, Dalton Schultz has only scored once in five weeks and has only eclipsed 50 yards once in that same timeframe. It also hurts that the NYG are allowing just -12.2% points over average (POA) to TEs.

Tyler Higbee ($5200 FD)

Higbee was out due to COVID last week, yet he still wouldn’t have made a difference. His targets aren’t terrible: 6, 5, 5 and 10 the last 4 weeks, but he just isn’t capitalizing. He has 3 TDs on the season and the 51-yard outing vs. the Titans is his 2nd highest total of the season. He’s TD-dependent with a lack of TDs.

D/ST:

  1. HOU D/ST ($4000 FD)

Houston has given up back-to-back 30-point games and the Jaguars’ now have some competence at head coach in Darrell Bevell. Warning: This play could backfire big time.

Top cash plays:

QB:

Josh Allen ($8700 FD)

He gets a reeling Carolina defense this week in a borderline must win, enough said.

CBS Sports

Kyler Murray ($8800 FD)

Kyler played badly last week but luckily the cure for all struggles is the Detroit Lions defense. The Lions are the best matchup for QBs according to POA and it’s a dome game. Poor Dan Campbell. Rich us.

Dak Prescott ($7500 FD)

Anytime I hear the song Helter Skelter, I think of Dak Prescott. With totals of 1.9, 12.2, 25.3, 4.6and 26.3 the past five weeks, up and down is an understatement. He’s all over the place, but so is the Giants defense. Tom Brady, Tua Tagovailoa, and Justin Herbert all threw 2 or more TD passes against the Giants in the past 4 weeks. This should be a get-right spot for Dak…hopefully.

RB:

Ezekiel Elliott ($6700 FD)

I know he’s hurt but $6700?! What a value. It also aids that the Giants are the 14th best matchup for RBs.

James Connor/Chase Edmonds ($8000/$6500 FD)

If Connor starts and Edmonds is still out, Connor is worth his price tag. If Edmonds is back, I’m going Edmonds. They get an incredible matchup vs. the Lions.

Cordarrelle Patterson ($7000 FD)

Patterson is a little cheaper this week and gets the 8th best matchup for RBs. San Francisco is allowing 10.7% points over average (POA) to RBs. Feel free to deploy C-Patt this week.

WR:

Davante Adams ($8500 FD)

He’s had 100+ yds in 3 straight games. Just get Davante Adams in your cash lineup and don’t overthink it.

Cooper Kupp ($6700 FD)

He’s still averaging over 10+ targets/gm and has 90+ yds in his last 5 games. Keep it simple, play Kupp.

Tee Higgins ($6800 FD)

If Higgins is available to play, then he’s in my cash lineup. He has 29 targets over his last three games, including 2 games with a TD and 100+ yards in all three contests.

TE:

George Kittle ($7800 FD)

Kittle is expensive but he’s worth it. He gets a turnstile Falcons defense giving up 15.6% points over average (POA) to TEs.

Mark Andrews ($7100 FD)

It doesn’t matter if Huntley or Lamar plays, Andrews is a target machine. He fought through a tough matchup last week and finished with 11/115/1. The Packer’s defense has been tough, but Andrews can beat them.

Dawson Knox ($6500 FD)

If you want to save a little, Knox is your guy.  He has 15 targets over his last two games and 3 TDs in his last five games. Carolina is bleeding, and the Bills are the sharks circling them.

D/ST:

ARI D/ST( $4800 FD)

They play the Lions with no Swift or Hockenson. Cha-ching.

LAR D/ST ($4100)

See GPP section.

Lone-ranger play:

Albert Wilson ($5000 FD)

If Waddle misses this week, plug-in Wilson who profiles more for that role than any other Dolphin and who has been a growing part of the offense.

Final thoughts on cash/GPP’s:

Love Bills onslaught stacks this week.
