Week 8: Betting with Schiz

Week 7 was a great week here at Betting with Schiz. If you tailed, you won! Plain and simple. We kicked it off with the Tennessee Titans absolutely dominating the Kansas City Chiefs, as Titans +4.5 was basically a lock by the end of the fourth quarter. Then, as expected, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers made the Chicago Bears look silly, covering the 11.5 point spread three times over in a 38-3 route. Lastly, The Green Bay Packers also showed up for our -7.5 line, shutting down the Washington offense and finding the end zone thrice in a 24-10 victory. MNF didn’t go as planned but 3/4 is a winning week!

Now let’s move on to week 8:

Moneyline Parlay:

Titans ML vs. Colts (+106)

Lions ML vs. Eagles (+162)

Giants ML vs. Chiefs (+350)

+2328

Now this is obviously a longshot but there are a lot of toss-up games this week with big spreads, so let’s shake things up.

All three of these teams have a very good chance to win their matchups.

Starting with the Titans, Tennessee has beaten the Bills and the Chiefs in back-to-back weeks. Derrick Henry is in peak form. AJ Brown is back to being productive and effective, and the defense for the Titans has been surprisingly solid. As someone who is not super high on the Colts in general, the Titans will win this game comfortably.

The Lions have been dubbed somewhat ironically “the best 0-7 team ever” but it really does feel like this team is better than their record shows. It took a record-breaking kick from Justin Tucker for the Baltimore Ravens to pull out a win against them in week 3 and Detroit also nearly toppled the San Francisco 49ers in Week 1 and the Minnesota Vikings in Week 5. This past week, a combination of trick plays and an explosive run after the catch by D’Andre Swift had the Lions out to a 10-point lead against the NFC juggernaut Rams on the road. While the Rams came back to win the game comfortably, there is a lot to be said for the Lions toughness. They will not go 0-17 and the Eagles are terrible. This is a great chance for the first W in the Dan Campbell era.

It is just classic New York Giants to win in dominant fashion only after losing their top offensive weapons to injury. Saquon Barkley, Sterling Shepard, Kadarius Toney and Kenny Golladay all missed the game on Sunday, yet the Giants took care of business against the Carolina Panthers.

The NYG defense had a much needed ‘get right game.” Plus, their offense will have an extra day to recover with a MNF matchup looming. Meanwhile, the Chiefs have looked horrific. This feels like a classic trap game at home for the Chiefs who also need a ‘get right game.’ Take the +9.5 spread for the Giants regardless but the high money line is what gives this parlay its value.

Same Game Parlay: Rams vs. Texans

Cooper Kupp Anytime TD Scorer

Robert Woods Anytime TD Scorer

Alt Spread: Rams -6.5

Alt Total: o41.5

+418

After watching the Arizona Cardinals destroy the Houston Texans last week, it is hard not to see the Rams doing the same.

This offense is firing on all cylinders and the Texans will not have an answer on defense (particularly because their offense is so bad that the Texans’ defense will constantly be on the field).

A game script like this usually points to rushing props but Vegas caught on to that one. All of Darrell Henderson’s numbers are super inflated.

In a game where the Rams are expected to put up 35 plus points, we can assume that at least a couple will come through the air. Cooper Kupp is an endzone magnet and Robert Woods is due for touchdown regression big time. This is a fun parlay to keep you engaged in a blowout type of game, and one to feel very good about.

Buccaneers @ Saints o50.5 (+100)

We have missed the last two overs because we’ve overlooked a crucial factor: the weather. Well, lucky for all of us, the New Orleans Saints play in a dome. Their offense has looked productive in more games than not this year, and a divisional matchup at home is as good a time as any to perform. Meanwhile, Tom Brady and the Buccaneers do nothing but score a lot of points. I even doctored this over up to 50.5 for even money, so feel free to take it as listed (48.5). This one feels like a lock, let’s ride!

As previously mentioned, there are not a lot of spreads and over/unders I like this week. So instead, below are a few of my favorite props and money lines for you to mix and match for your own parlay construction.
