Weekly Weigh-in: Week 7 Recap

We did it. We survived the “bye-pocalypse.” In Week 7, six NFL teams entered their bye week, leaving fantasy managers scrambling for replacement options. This past week yielded one of the strangest weeks in fantasy football in recent memory. Without further ado, let's jump headfirst into this past week of NFL action.

Bye Weeks : (BUF) (DAL) (JAX) (LAC) (MIN) (PIT)

Denver Broncos (3-4) at Cleveland Browns (4-3)

Final Score: CLE 17 - DEN 14

Top Performers:

Javonte Williams RB - Denver Broncos (17.2 PPR PTS)

4 RSH/20 YDS/0 TD - 6 REC/7 TGT/32 YDS/1 TD

D’Ernest Johnson RB - Cleveland Browns (24.8 PPR PTS)

22 RSH/146 YDS/1 TD - 2 REC/2 TGT/22 YDS/0 TD

Browns Wire - USA Today

Underperformers:

Tim Patrick WR - Denver Broncos (3.6 PPR PTS)

2 REC/5 TGT/16 YDS/0 TD

Odell Beckham Jr. WR - Cleveland Browns (4.3 PPR PTS)

2 REC/6 TGTS/23 YDS/0 TD

Weigh-In:

  • The Broncos just lost to an offense compiled of backups and replacement players. Things do not look good in the mile-high city.

  • One bright spot is rookie running back Javonte Williams. He had fewer snaps than his veteran counterpart yet managed to lead his team in fantasy output.

  • Melvin Gordon recorded just 32 combined yards from scrimmage in Week 7. Williams appears to be the stronger rusher and receiver at this point.

  • Teddy Bridgewater recorded 187 passing yards and two touchdowns. He also threw one interception. Bridgewater finished with 14.8 FPTS.

  • Courtland Sutton has been an inconsistent producer in 2021. He managed to catch all five of his targets for 68 yards but has struggled to find the endzone this season. He recorded just 11.8 FPTS.

  • Jerry Jeudy was activated off IR but did not play during the Broncos shortened week. Jeudy is expected to play in Week 8 and could hinder Sutton’s overall usage and production.

  • Noah Fant remains a low-end TE1. He recorded just 8.9 FPTS but his team-leading seven targets are encouraging.

  • Tim Patrick scored less FPTS than the Broncos' defense. Patrick will have little value in fantasy with Jeudy returning.

  • Case Keenum got his first start of 2021, filling in for the injured Baker Mayfield. Keenum got the Browns the victory but managed just 199 yards and one touchdown for 12.7 FPTS.

  • D’Ernest Johnson led both teams in fantasy production in Week 7. Johnson combined for 168 total yards from scrimmage. He may have carved out a secondary role behind Nick Chubb until Kareem Hunt returns.

  • I usually wouldn’t list an injured player as an underperformer. Despite being in and out of the game with injuries, Odell Beckham Jr led the Browns’ receivers in snap percentage (61%). OBJ accumulated just 4.3 FPTS.

  • Jarvis Landry led the Browns in receptions (5) and targets (8). He recorded just 8.7 FPTS.

  • You cannot rely on any Browns’ pass-catchers in your starting lineup.

Carolina Panthers (3-4) at New York Giants (2-5)

Final Score: NY 25 - CAR 3

Top Performers:

DJ Moore WR - Carolina Panthers (13.3 PPR PTS)

6 REC/10 TGT/73 YDS/0 TD

Daniel Jones QB - New York Giants (17.5 PPR PTS)

23 CMP/33 ATT/203 YDS/1 TD/0 INT - 8 RSH/28 YDS/0 TD - 1 REC/1 TGT/16 YDS/0 TD

Underperformers:

Sam Darnold QB - Carolina Panthers (3.4 PPR PTS)

16 CMP/25 ATT/111 YDS/0 TD/1 INT - 0 RSH/0 YDS/0 TD

John Ross WR - New York Giants (4.7 PPR PTS)

2 REC/2 TGT/27 YDS/0 TD

Weigh-In:

  • The Panthers offense could not gain momentum in the loss, scoring only one field goal in the contest.

  • Sam Darnold played so badly he was eventually benched for P.J. Walker in the fourth quarter.

  • DJ Moore led the team in fantasy production. His lowly 13.3 FPTS was the only silver lining for the Panthers.

  • Chuba Hubbard accumulated 56 combined rushing and receiving yards for 9.6 FPTS.

  • Robby Anderson caught three of his nine targets for a laughable 14 receiving yards. If you haven’t dropped Anderson from your roster already, please do so now.

  • Passing, rushing, catching, Daniel Jones did it all in Week 7. He led both teams in FPTS and the Giants to a victory.

  • The Giants Defense outscored every other member of the offense in FPTS.

  • Devontae Booker was utterly anemic through four quarters. He recorded just 51 rushing yards on 14 carries. A garbage-time touchdown late in the fourth quarter salvaged his fantasy production. Booker finished with 14.6 FPTS. He is a flex worthy play until Saquon returns.

  • Dante Pettis led the Giants' receivers with 15.5 FPTS despite his limited usage.

  • Darius Slayton led the team with nine targets and 63 receiving yards. Slayton and Pettis have some appealing upside as long as Sterling Shepherd and Kadarius Toney are out of the lineup.

  • Evan Engram recorded a season-high 10.4 FPTS. He also saw season-highs in receptions (6) and targets (8)

  • John Ross is exactly what we thought: A flash in the pan speedster, incapable of consistent production.

Atlanta Falcons (3-3) at Miami Dolphins (1-6)

Final Score: ATL 30 - MIA 28

Top Performers:

Kyle Pitts TE - Atlanta Falcons (23.3 PPR PTS)

7 REC/8 TGT/163 YDS/0 TD

Tua Tagovailoa QB - Miami Dolphins (28.5 PPR PTS)

32 CMP/40 ATT/291 YDS/4 TD/2 INT - 4 RSH/29 YDS/0 TD

Underperformers:

Mike Davis RB - Atlanta Falcons (1.0 PPR PTS)

4 RSH/10 YDS/0 TD - 0 REC/0 TGT/0 YDS/0 TD

Jason Sanders K - Miami Dolphins (3.0 PPR PTS)

3 XPM/3 XPA/0 FGM/1 FGA - Crucial Missed Field Goal

Weigh-In:

  • Matt Ryan recorded 17.4 FPTS on 336 yards passing. Ryan threw two touchdowns and one interception in the Falcons win over the Dolphins.

  • Kyle Pitts certainly looked like a generational talent in Week 7. Pitts now has back-to-back games with over 110 yards receiving.

  • Russel Gage had 67 receiving yards with four catches on six targets. Gage recorded 16.7 FPTS, leading all Falcons’ wide receivers.

  • Cordarelle Patterson is a league winner. Patterson recorded 14.1 FPTS. He is ranked as RB7 in 2021.

  • Calvin Ridley saw his lowest snap share of the season, logging just 73% of the offensive snaps in Week 7. Ridley managed to find the endzone against the Dolphins, saving an otherwise terrible fantasy day. Ridley recorded 12.6 FPTS. He has not lived up to his top 25 ADP thus far.

  • Mike Davis is merely Patterson’s back up now. He touched the ball only four times and recorded a meager ten rushing yards.

  • The Dolphins offense was firing on all cylinders but it was not enough for the victory.

  • Dolphins Kicker Jason Sanders was the true underperformer of the match, missing a crucial kick that would wind up being the difference-maker on the scoreboard.

  • Tua chucked a career-high four touchdowns while setting a personal-best mark of 28.5 FPTS

  • Mike Gesicki is a bonafide star. Gesicki is ranked as TE3 in 2021. Week 7 marked his fourth game of the season with 15.0 or more FPTS.

  • Myles Gaskin is showing life after a horrid start to the season. Gaskin recorded 17.7 FPTS with 67 rushing yards and a receiving touchdown.

  • Jaylen Waddle caught seven of his eight targets for 83 yards and 15.3 FPTS. Waddle is stringing together an excellent season in his rookie year, ranked WR21 in 2021.

Washington Football Team (2-5) at Green Bay Packers (6-1)

Final Score: GB 24 - WSH 10

Top Performers:

Terry McLaurin WR - Washington Football Team (25.2 PPR PTS)

7 REC/12 TGT/122 YDS/1 TD

Aaron Rodgers QB - Green Bay Packers (24.7 PPR PTS)

27 CMP/35 ATT/274 YDS/3 TD - 2 RSH/17 YDS/0 TD

Underperformers:

Antonio Gibson RB - Washington Football Team (6.6 PPR PTS)

14 RSH/51 YDS/0 TD - 2 REC/2 TGT/5 YDS/0 TD

AJ Dillon RB - Green Bay Packers (-0.2 PPR PTS)

3 RSH/6 YDS/0 TD - 1 REC/2 YDS/0 TD (2 FUMBLES/1 LOST FUMBLE)

Weigh-In:

  • Washington was no match for the overpowered Packers offense in Week 7.

  • Terry McLaurin was still able to scorch the Packers' secondary in the loss. McLaurin led both sides with 25.2 FPTS.

  • Taylor Heinicke bounced back after a poor Week 6 performance against the Chiefs. He recorded 19.2 FPTS in the loss, throwing for 268 yards with one touchdown and one interception.

  • Ricky Seals-Jones has been an excellent contributor at tight end for Washington in the absence of Logan Thomas. Seals-Jones caught six of his seven targets for 51 yards. This game marked three straight for Seals-Jones with six or more targets.

  • Antonio Gibson has been dealing with stress fractures in his shin for the entire season. It looked to affect him mightily in Week 7 as he averaged just 3.64 YPC.

  • J.D. McKissic took the lead role in the backfield with Gibson hurting. McKissic led the backfield in snap percentage (64%) but only recorded 9.6 FPTS.

  • The Packers have now won six games in a row.

  • Rodgers is quietly making his case for an MVP repeat.

  • Davante Adams = Greatness. Adams recorded 19.6 FPTS with six catches for 76 yards and a touchdown. Adams was placed into Covid protocols the day after the game and is expected to miss the Packers TNF matchup against the Cardinals

  • Allen Lazard has scored a touchdown in back-to-back games. Lazard led the Packers with 91% of the offensive snaps. Lazard has legitimate flex appeal moving forward.

  • Robert Tonyan set a personal best for 2021 with 16.3 FPTS in Week 7. Tonyan received five targets, recording four catches for 63 and his second touchdown of the season.

  • Aaron Jones managed only 39 total yards. Jones rushed for 19 yards on six carries and caught all five of his targets for 20 receiving yards. Jones 8.9 FPTS is merely a hiccup in his top ten RB season.

  • AJ Dillon had as many fumbles as he did fantasy points. He will likely need to re-establish the trust of the coaching staff before receiving more touches.

Cincinnati Bengals (5-2) at Baltimore Ravens (5-2)

Final Score: CIN 41 - BAL 17

Top Performers:

Ja’Marr Chase WR - Cincinnati Bengals (33.1 PPR PTS)

8 REC/10 TGT/201 YDS/1 TD

Lamar Jackson QB - Baltimore Ravens (23.1 PPR PTS)

15 CMP/30 ATT/257 YDS/1 TD/0 INT - 12 RSH/88 YDS/0 TD

Underperformers:

Tyler Boyd WR - Cincinnati Bengals (7.9 PPR PTS)

4 REC/7 TGT/39 YDS/0 TD

Mark Andrews TE - Baltimore Ravens (6.8 PPR PTS)

3 REC/7 TGT/48 YDS/0 TD

Weigh-In:

  • Ja’Marr Chase is not just the best rookie wide receiver in his class; he is arguably one of the top receivers in the NFL. Chase is on a historic pace in 2021 and continued it with season highs in receptions (8) and receiving yards (201). All against one of the NFL’s top-ranked passing defenses.

  • Joe Burrow passed for a career-high 416 yards against the Ravens. Burrow threw three interceptions and one interception. A near-perfect day saw Burrow finish with 27.6 FPTS.

  • Surprisingly, Tee Higgins led the Bengals in targets in Week 7. Higgins caught seven of his team-high 15 targets for 62 touchdowns but failed to secure a touchdown. Higgins has now gone scoreless in three straight games.

  • C.J Uzomah is entering must-start territory for tight ends in fantasy football. Uzomah possesses incredible big-play upside. He has recorded five touchdowns in his last four games, surpassing 90 receiving yards twice in that span.

  • Joe Mixon was outscored by both the Bengals kicker and his backup running back. Mixon recorded just 11.9 FPTS despite scoring a touchdown.

  • Samaje Perine also scored a rushing touchdown and was the more productive running back in Week 7. Perine recorded 52 rushing yards on 11 carries, finishing with 14.5 FPTS. Perine secured his only target for 23 yards.

  • With Tee Higgins back in the lineup, Tyler Boyd is left out of the offensive game plan. He has not surpassed 10.0 FPTS since Higgins returned.

  • Lamar Jackson is QB1 and RB1 for the Ravens. Jackson led the Ravens in rushing yards (88) and attempts (12).

  • Hollywood Brown will not lose his role to Rashod Bateman. Brown recorded 19.0 FPTS on five receptions for 80 yards. He led the team with 14 targets. No other Ravens’ pass-catcher saw more than seven targets.

  • Bateman caught three of his six targets for 80 yards. He is a promising young weapon for the Ravens passing attack but remains the second option behind Brown.

  • Mark Andrews had his lowest receiving output since the Ravens lost to the Raiders in Week 1. Andrews has been spectacular throughout 2021 and this game should be viewed as an outlier.

  • It will be difficult to predict the Ravens committee approach to the running back position.

  • Devonta Freeman recorded 12.9 FPTS with only 14 rushing yards. Freeman’s rushing touchdown carried his fantasy output.

  • Le’Veon Bell saw 30% of the offensive snaps, recording just 1.4 FPTS

  • Ty’Son Williams returned to action after injury but saw just 29% of the offensive snaps, conceding work to Bell and Freeman.

New York Jets (1-5) at New England Patriots (3-4)

Final Score: NE 54 - NYJ 13

Top Performers:

Michael Carter RB - New York Jets (15.4 PPR PTS)

11 RSH/37 YDS/0 TD - 8 REC/9 TGT/67 YDS/0 TD

Damien Harris RB - New England Patriots (25.3 PPR PTS)

14 RSH/106 YDS/2 TD - 2 REC/2 TGT/7 YDS/0 TD

Underperformers:

Jamison Crowder WR - New York Jets (7.4 PPR PTS)

4 REC/6 TGT/34 YDS/0 TD

Jakobi Meyers WR - New England Patriots (9.4 PPR PTS)

5 REC/7 TGT/44 YDS/0 TD

Weigh-In:

  • The Jets were without Zach Wilson for most of the game after the rookie quarterback left with a knee injury. Reports have confirmed Wilson will miss 2-4 weeks with a PCL sprain. The Jets traded a conditional pick for Joe Flacco the day after the game ended.

  • Mike White stepped in as the quarterback, throwing for 202 yards and one touchdown with two interceptions.

  • Michael Carter has been the Jets' most productive offensive rookie in 2021. Carter led the team with nine targets, eight receptions, and 67 receiving yards. With Wilson sidelined. Carter’s 72% snap share is further evidence he has displaced Ty Johnson as the RB1 on the offense.

  • Corey Davis caught White’s only passing touchdown of the day. Davis finished with 14.7 FPTS.

  • Elijah Moore scored the first touchdown of his career in Week 7. It was a rushing touchdown. Moore has still yet to catch a receiving touchdown in his rookie season.

  • Jamison Crowder recorded just 7.4 FPTS and struggled to find production since catching fire in Week 4.

  • Ty Johnson benefited from White’s checkdown-heavy style. Johnson caught six of his seven targets for 65 yards. He could see increased work with Flacco under center.

  • Do not add Joe Flacco to your fantasy rosters.

  • The Patriots scored their first touchdown on a trick play that saw Kendrick Bourne throw a 25-yard touchdown pass to Nelson Agholor.

  • Mac Jones has looked like the best rookie quarterback of the 2021 class. Jones threw for 307 yards and two passing touchdowns during the Patriots' rout of the Jets.

  • Damien Harris recorded his second straight 100-yard rushing performance. Harris has now scored a rushing touchdown in three consecutive games.

  • Jakobi Meyers continues his scoreless streak.

  • Kendrick Bourne caught all four of his targets for 68 yards. An unsuspecting passing touchdown from Bourne buoyed his 15.8 FPTS.

  • Hunter Henry has far surpassed Jonnu Smith as the lead tight end for the Patriots. Smith left the contest early with a shoulder injury. If Smith misses any time, Henry would further extend the gap between the two.

Kansas City Chiefs (3-4) at Tennessee Titans (5-2)

Final Score: TEN 27 - KC 3

Top Performers:

Travis Kelce TE - Kansas City Chiefs (13.5 PPR PTS)

7 REC/12 TGT/65 YDS/0 TD

A.J. Brown WR - Tennessee Titans (27.3 PPR PTS)

8 REC/9 TGT/133 YDS/1 TD

Underperformers:

Patrick Mahomes QB - Kansas City Chiefs (6.7 PPR PTS)

20 CMP/35 ATT/206 YDS/0 TD/1 INT - 6 RSH/35 YDS/0 TD (2 FUMBLES/1 LOST FUMBLE)

Julio Jones WR - Tennessee Titans (5.8 PPR PTS)

2 REC/4 TGT/38 YDS/0 TD

Weigh-In

  • It’s time to hit the panic button on the Chiefs season. Nothing is going right for this organization and they appear to have no immediate answers to stop the bleeding.

  • Patrick Mahomes has now thrown nine interceptions in 2021. Mahomes leads the NFL in interceptions thrown.

  • Mahomes took a hit to the head late in the fourth quarter and should be considered questionable for Week 8

  • Travis Kelce continues to produce amidst the catastrophic collapse. He is firmly cemented as the number one tight end in fantasy.

  • Tyreek Hill had a decent fantasy performance, all things considered. Hill recorded 12.9 FPTS with six receptions for 49 yards. Hill also added an 18-yard rush to his box score.

  • Byron Pringle was the surprise standout for the offense. Pringle received six targets, catching five passes for a team-leading 73 receiving yards.

  • Darrel Williams was phased out of the offensive in a pass-heavy game script. Williams carried the ball five times for 20 yards. He recorded 8.0 FPTS.

  • A.J. Brown is back. He set season-highs in every receiving category. Managers that got rid of Brown early are living in regret.

  • Ryan Tannehill has not been producing at the uber-efficient rate that we are used to. He recorded 20.4 FPTS in Week 7.

  • Derrick Henry has the same amount of passing touchdowns as Goff and Tannehill in Week 7. Henry’s 100(+) rushing yard streak ends at five games. Henry rushed for 86 yards on 29 carries.

  • Julio Jones played his lowest snap total of the season. Jones was on the field for just 43% of the Titans' offensive plays, resulting in his lowest-scoring game of the season.

Detroit Lions (0-7) at Los Angeles Rams (6-1)

Final Score: LAR 28 - DET 19

Top Performers

D’Andre Swift RB - Detroit Lions (28.4 PPR PTS)

13 RSH/48 YDS/0 TD - 8 REC/10 TGT/96 YDS/1 TD

Cooper Kupp WR - Los Angeles Rams (37.6 PPR PTS)

10 REC/13 TGT/156 YDS/2 TD

Underperformers:

Amon-Ra St. Brown WR - Detroit Lions (0.0 PPR PTS)

0 REC/0 TGT/0 YDS/0 TD

Darrel Henderson RB - Los Angeles Rams (9.4 PPR PTS)

15 RSH/45 YDS/0 TD - 3 REC/6 TGT/19 YDS/0 TD

Weigh-In:

  • The Lions are the most exciting 0-7 team I have ever watched. A multitude of trick plays, fake punts, and onside kicks was not enough for head coach Dan Campbell to secure the team’s first win.

  • D’Andre Swift is the RB1 and WR1 for the Lions. Swift leads the team in all rushing and receiving categories this season.

  • Jamaal Williams has seen his role reduced at the hands of Swift’s ascent.

  • Kalif Raymond is the only wide receiver for the Lions worth consideration on your fantasy radars. Raymond has vastly exceeded Amon-Ra St. Brown as the Lions' number one receiver. Raymond recorded 115 yards on six catches, finishing with 17.6 FPTS against the Rams.

  • St. Brown played 62% of the offensive snaps in Week 7. He recorded no statistics.

  • T.J Hockenson caught six passes for 48 yards. Hockenson received nine targets in Week 7 and remains a must-start tight end despite the Lions' offensive woes.

  • Jared Goff continues to show he is incapable of putting his team in a position to win. Goff threw for two interceptions against the Rams. Goff recorded 13.0 FPTS, completing 22 of his 36 attempts for 268 and a touchdown.

  • Cooper Kupp is ridiculously good at football. Kupp matched his season-high 13 targets, setting a personal best in 2021 with 37.6 FPTS.

  • Matthew Stafford continues to make his case for the NFL’s MVP. Stafford threw for 334 yards and three touchdowns in the Rams victory.

  • Robert Woods is adjusting to his secondary role behind Kupp and performing beautifully. Woods has averaged 17.0 FPTS over his last four games and is a solid WR2 option moving forward.

  • Van Jefferson is performing equally as well in his tertiary role. Jefferson’s week-to-week fantasy production is touchdown-dependent but he is an excellent additional weapon for Stafford.

  • Tyler Higbee remains on the brink of the TE1 tier ranked as TE13 on the season. There does not seem to be enough volume to go around to support Higbee past that threshold.

  • Darrel Henderson has been a consistent RB1 throughout 2021. Henderson’s 9.4 FPTS marked a season-low for the Rams' running back.

Philadelphia Eagles (2-5) at Las Vegas Raiders (5-2)

Final Score: LV 33 - PHI 22

Top Performers:

Jalen Hurts QB - Philadelphia Eagles (22.5 PPR PTS)

18 CMP/34 ATT/236 YDS/2 TD - 12 RSH/61 YDS/0 TD

Foster Moreau TE - Las Vegas Raiders (18.0 PPR PTS)

6 REC/6 TGT/60 YDS/1 TD

Underperformers:

Quez Watkins WR - Philadelphia Eagles (5.7 PPR PTS)

2 REC/4 TGT/37 YDS/0 TD

Henry Ruggs WR - Las Vegas Raiders (7.1 PPR PTS)

4 REC/4 TGT/24 YDS/0 TD - 1 RSH/7 YDS/0 TD

Weigh-In:

  • Jalen Hurts continues his QB1 campaign with his elite rushing floor and garbage-time passing stats.

  • Miles Sanders exited the game with a low-ankle sprain and has no clear timetable for return. Sanders is considered “week-to-week.”

  • Kenneth Gainwell supplemented Sanders as the starting running back after the injury, recording 13.1 FPTS.

  • Dallas Goedert is now the lone tight end after the Eagles traded Zach Ertz to the Cardinals. Goedert saw virtually the same usage, receiving just five targets. Goedert finished with three receptions for 70 yards.

  • DeVonta Smith led the team with nine targets. Smith caught five of those targets for 61 yards.

  • Jalen Reagor caught a touchdown and still finished with less than 10.0 FPTS.

  • Quez Watkins was out-snapped by Reagor for the second straight game. Watkins is primarily being used as a deep threat decoy. He has not found much production as of late.

  • Boston Scott should see increased usage while Sanders is out.

  • Darren Waller was forced to miss the contest while dealing with ankle, knee, and wrist injuries.

  • Foster Moreau stepped into Waller’s role perfectly, proving he is one of the league’s most talented and underrated players.

  • Kenyan Drake has been sensational over the past two contests. Drake followed up his 21.3 point performance in Week 6 with 16.9 FPTS in Week 7.

  • Josh Jacobs recorded 15.8 FPTS but left the game early with a chest contusion. Jacobs is expected to play in Week 8.

  • Bryan Edwards caught his first touchdown of the season against the Eagles in Week 7. Edwards finished with 13.3 FPTS.

  • Hunter Renfrow led the team with eight targets. Renfrow registered seven receptions for 58 yards.

  • Henry Ruggs' big-play ability was nowhere to be found in Week 7. Ruggs caught all four of his targets for a despicable 24 yards.

Houston Texans (1-6) at Arizona Cardinals (7-0)

Final Score: ARI 31 - HOU 5

Top Performers:

David Johnson RB - Houston Texans (10.2 PPR PTS)

7 RSH/25 YDS/0 TD - 5 REC/6 TGT/27 YDS/0 TD

Kyler Murray QB - Arizona Cardinals (22.4 PPR PTS)

20 CMP/28 ATT/261 YDS/3 TD/1 INT - 6 RSH/10 YDS/0 TD

Underperformers:

Davis Mills QB - Houston Texans (2.4 PPR PTS)

23 CMP/32 ATT/135 YDS/0 TD/0 INT - 0 RSH/0 YDS/0 TD

Rondale Moore WR - Arizona Cardinals (3.7 PPR PTS)

2 REC/3 TGT/17 YDS/0 TD

Weigh-In:

  • The Texans lost by 26 points, and their defense still scored more FPTS than Davis Mills.

  • David Johnson led the team with 10.2 FPTS.

  • Brandin Cooks continues his slump. Cooks has scored below 10.0 FPTS in four of his last five games.

  • There are no other players worth mentioning on the Texans' offense.

  • Kyler Murray’s elite rushing ability has seemingly vanished. Murray has not scored a rushing touchdown since Week 2 and has just 17 rushing yards combined over his last three games

  • DeAndre Hopkins caught his seventh receiving touchdown of the season in Week 7. Hopkins finished with 18.3 FPTS with seven receptions for 53 yards.

  • Zach Ertz made an immediate impact in his first game as a Cardinal, catching three of five targets for 66 yards and a touchdown.

  • Christian Kirk is a consistent WR3 this season. Kirk recorded 15.0 FPTS with 50 yards on four catches and a touchdown.

  • James Conner has six rushing touchdowns in his last five games. Conner finished with 12.4 FPTS on just 30% of the offensive snaps.

  • Chase Edmonds out-snapped Conner with 69% of the offensive snaps. Edmonds led the team in carries (15) and rushing yards (81).

  • A.J. Green caught all three of his targets for 66 yards.

  • Rondale Moore does not see enough volume to support his fantasy production.

Chicago Bears (3-4) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-1)

*Tom Brady Becomes First QB in NFL History to Throw for 600 Touchdowns*

Final Score: TB 38 - CHI 3

Top Performers:

Khalil Herbert RB - Chicago Bears (18.3 PPR PTS)

18 RSH/100 YDS/0 TD - 5 REC/5 TGT/33 YDS/0 TD

Mike Evans WR - Tampa Bay Buccaneers (31.6 PPR PTS)

6 REC/10 TGT/76 YDS/3 TD

Underperformers:

Justin Fields QB - Chicago Bears (1.2 PPR PTS)

22 CMP/32 ATT/184 YDS/0 TD/3 INT - 8 RSH/38 YDS/0 TD (3 FUMBLES/2 LOST FUMBLES)

Cameron Brate TE - Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0.0 PPR PTS)

0 REC/4 TGTS/0 YDS/0 TD

Weigh-In:

  • Justin Fields turned the ball over five times during the Bears blowout loss.

  • Khalil Herbert managed to put up a massive game despite every other member of the Bears sputtering. Herbert should have a solidified role moving forward, even after the return of David Montgomery.

  • The entire Bears offensive unit struggled due to Fields' disastrous performance.

  • Tom Brady threw for four passing touchdowns en route to his 600th of his career.

  • Mike Evans gave away the 600th touchdown to a fan, probably because he had lost track after scoring three touchdowns on the day.

  • Chris Godwin had an explosive performance himself. Godwin set a season-high with 25.10 FPTS with 111 yards on eight receptions and a touchdown.

  • Leonard Fournette extends his rushing touchdown streak to three games. Fournette finished with 17.0 FPTS.

  • Cameron Brate and O.J. Howard both underperformed in the blowout victory. Brate was the big disappointment of the day, leading both tight ends in snaps while failing to secure any of his four targets. Brate ended the day with no statistics.

Indianapolis Colts (3-4) at San Francisco 49ers (2-4)

Final Score: IND 30 - SF 18

Top Performers:

Michael Pittman Jr. WR - Indianapolis Colts (20.5 PPR PTS)

4 REC/4 TGT/105 YDS/1 TD

Deebo Samuel WR - San Francisco 49ers (20.0 PPR PTS)

7 REC/11 TGTS/100 YDS/1 TD

Under Performers:

Nyheim Hines RB - Indianapolis Colts (2.2 PPR PTS)

8 RSH/14 YDS/0 TD - 1 REC/3 TGT/0 TD

Jimmy Garoppolo QB - San Francisco 49ers (5.2 PPR PTS)

16 CMP/27 ATT/181 YDS/1 TD/2 INT - 2 RSH/0 YDS/0 TD

Weigh-In:

  • Michael Pittman Jr. stole the show and the game with a highlight-reel grab in the endzone. Pittman is the clear WR1 for the Colts

  • Carson Wentz performed well despite the horrific weather conditions. Wentz finished with 18.3 FPTS despite playing in the middle of a cyclone.

  • Jonathan Taylor rushed for 107 yards on 18 carries. Taylor extended his touchdown streak to four games. He finished with 16.0 FPTS.

  • Nyheim Hines can be dropped in most formats. He has been averaging 1.5 FPTS over the last four contests.

  • Mo Allie-Cox was also a recipient of a rainy touchdown pass. Allie-Cox has intriguing upside as a midseason tight end streamer.

  • Deebo Samuel continues to produce at an elite level. Samuel is ranked as WR6 in 2021. There are no signs of a decrease in usage or production.

  • Forget about Brandon Aiyuk. The 49ers certainly have.

  • Elijah Mitchell’s 16.7 FPTS marked a season-high for the rookie. He rushed for 107 yards and a touchdown in the 49ers' loss.

Weigh-In:

  • Alvin Kamara became the fastest RB to achieve 3000 rushing and 3000 receiving yards, needing just 66 career games to accomplish the feat.

  • Kamara led the team in all rushing and receiving categories.

  • Jameis Winston passed for 222 yards and one touchdown. Winston recorded no turnovers in the contest, finishing with 15.9 fantasy points.

  • Marquez Callaway continues to falter as the Saints de-facto number one wide receiver. Callaway is ranked as WR59 in 2021 and could lose significant work once(if) Michael Thomas returns from IR.

  • The Seahawks cannot wait until Russell Wilson returns as their starting quarterback.

  • Geno Smith has now lost two games in as many starts. Smith completed just 12 of his 22 passes for 167 yards against the Saints. He finished with 11.8 FPTS.

  • DK Metcalf burned pro-bowl defensive back Marshon Lattimore, for an 84 touchdown in Week 7. He was the only member of the Seahawks offensive to have a productive fantasy performance.

  • Tyler Lockett continues his downward spiral. Lockett was an unfortunate by-product of Smith’s inept performance. Lockett managed just 3.2 FPTS.

  • Alex Collins averaged 2.19 YPC against the Saints' defense. Collins rushed 16 times for 35 yards and finished with just 5.4 FPTS.

  • Gerald Everett will remain irrelevant until Russell Wilson is back on the field.
